Introduction
3DBuzz.com is an incredible website created and owned by Jason Busby (Known on 3DBuzz as Buzz).

His goal is to teach as many people as possible and let me tell you, this site achieved what it set out to do, and a MILLION things more!

If you are a 3D artist, 2D artist, programmer, game modder or if you are just looking for the best and most entertaining forums online...This is the place for you!

I have only been a member of 3DBuzz for a little over a year now and let me tell you that I would not be where I am today if it wasnt for these guys!

3DBuzz offers a lot of things to the community:

-Great Forums and an extremely helpful/funny community, creating an enjoyable place to post as well as a great site to reach out for help
-Excellent free content to download and learn a lot of topics going from proffesional 3D Packages such as Maya, 3DS Max, Houdini, 2D Apps such as Photoshop, modding for Half Life 2, Far Cry and Unreal 2004 and finally programming.

They also offer a member sponsorship for 35 dollars a month, that gives you access to a private chat-room like software that allows you to communicate with many members of the community at the same time. You also gain access to videos exclusive to member sponsors for a lot of applications that I previously mentioned.

Finally and the cream of the crop that 3DBuzz has to offer is the Extensive Learning DVDs for Maya, C++/OpenGL Programming and 3DS Max. With many many more to come.

Buzz has been known to be a very very generous man, the community and users of the site will agree! For 250$ US Dollars you can currently purchase 3 different learning packages for 3DS Max and Maya.

the courses are:

-Mastering Maya The Fundamentals
-Mastering Maya Advanced Modeling
-3DS Max fundamentals

and for 150$ US Dollars you can purchase the complete C++ programming Bundle as well as the OpenGL Programming set!

The Maya fundamentals is made up of over 82 hours of video that will take you through 3 different projects and allows you to learn Maya (A high end 3D application used by many studios and CG artists now a days) from the ground up. Even if you have never touched it before!

the same goes for 3DS Max fundamentals, learn Max even if you are new to the program through several entertaining and highly educational projects.
The Maya Advanced modeling set is made for those who already posses Maya Experience, It takes you through 7 different models and all the available modeling tools you need to create complex and wel crafted 3D Models.

For the programmers, 3DBuzz offers the C++ and OpenGL Bundle for the incredible price of 150$ US Dollars, it contains 6 issues that teach you the C++ Programming language, a simple DOS-Like Game, creating your own graphical user interfaces (GUI) and then taking your DOS game to a whole new level with 2D graphics and a GUI, Then. to top it all off you get the OpenGL videos that will teach you everything you need to know to get started with building and implementing 3D scenes and objects ito your programs.

To say the least, 3DBuzz is a behemoth website that feels incredibly relaxing and entertaining as well as educational. You dont even need to pay a subscription or a monthly fee to enjoy dozens upon dozens of free videos for a lot of different applications and subjects.

The forums and the community are an incredible place to meet people and to get help in any projects you are working on, and for a small price you can get a member sponsorship to gain access to a lot of extra videos (as well as giving back to Buzz for all the free stuff you get).

And the DVDs currently available for 250$ Dollars or less, A STEAL!

Finally on wednesdays and fridays, you can watch a FREE live show streamed online that has interviews with CG and 3D studios, news and articles from the industry, calls ins form members of the website and a lot of fun!
Good Points
-Great community
-Lots of forums to get help when working on any project you may have
-Tons of hours of free videos at no charge
-Great training DVDs available to purchase at a very low cost!
-A great feeling of being treated as more than just a costumer
Bad Points
NONE!, Free educational materials, excellent forums and community, Buzz and the 3DBuzz crew are great people, and excellent content available for purchase to take your skills to a whole new level
The Verdict
I Give this site a 10, I have always wanted to learn 3D and programming and thanks to 3DBuzz and many of the bundles and videos they offer, I have been able to do so.

I own the Maya modeling DVDs and the Programming bundle and its just amazing the stuff I have learned in such short time and at my own pace. Even before i purchased anything form 3DBuzz i spent a lot of time helping others as well as asking for help as I learned to program and do 3D by myself, making a lot of friends along the way and having a lot of fun.

If you are looking for excellent forums, this is the place, and if you are looking to find educational material then this is THEE site to visit.

Introduction
3dbuzz is a site dedicated to teaching and learning.

Its domain name is a little deceptive, because 3dbuzz teach a whole range of things, even those that are unrelated to 3d, such as PHP and MySQL for database driven websites.

This very site was created thanks to what I learned at 3dbuzz.com - I first attempted to learn PHP and Mysql through books, which only confused me and made me give up... that was until i found the video tutorials on 3dbuzz.com which are absolutely free, and i learned enough to make this website in about 3 or 4 days.
Good Points
Free training content which is top quality, as well as some material that is charged for.

Great community willing to help.

The owners mix with the community and offer their thoughts which is really nice.
Bad Points
none
The Verdict
The best place to be to learn anything creative without doubt. Hats off to 3dbuzz.com

Introduction
In less than 12 months I have completely redirected my career path due to the knowledge gained from Jason, Zak, Bill and the rest of the team.. I returned to education studying a Game Design degree at 29 years old after coming across 3DBuzz completely by accident. I initially was looking for information about writing music for games.

After finding the site I was hooked on 3D from day one. Begining with the unmatched amount of free training content available for game engines such as unreal, Doom, HL2 through to 3D packages such as Maya, Max I was able to delve straight into this fascinating world with ease and comfort. Someone was explaining things to me and it was making sense as these guys give you the nuts and bolts to get results immediately. Before I knew it I'd made an object as was able to place it into UT2K4 within a matter of hours. No other site had given me this detail in a clear and concise as well as fun manner, most just presume you already know. They took away the mystery and exlusiveness and made it available to us who just didn't know where to start.

Since then and 12 months on I am a participent in their online classes of Maya Fundamentals, Maya Advanced Modelling and Max fundamentals. I am now at real comfort with both Max and Maya and able to design things for my degree through a wealth of techniques learnt form these courses. You will not get better value for money anywhere. You will come out of these classes with Demo Reel quality material. How about an Alien flying a saucer?, a high detailed ferrari?, A handgun?, Hyper realistic Human Character, cartoonish character, Dragon??? the list goes on and on. But the best thing is you are taken through these projects and fell like like you are really learnng the software not just getting an end result. You now why you're doing things, you know your options and with this knowledge you can easily take things further for your slef.

Finally and I cannot stress this enough. You will not find anyone anywhere more dedicated to providing YOU with this quality training. You will not find anyone more approachable. They're like the A-Team, got a problem (question) give them a call (or a PM really). They do everything they can to make things happen for you personally. I know they helped me :)

What other company holds meeting for it's class member to see what YOU want in the training material? What other company has weekly internet TV show where you can call in, maybe get lucky and win a prize, have your work shown on air or even be invited to the Buzz cave. Also a community that will help you with experienced members willing to take their time and help in your learning curve.

In short, wanna get into 3D, programming etc you'd be a fool to pass this site by. You'd be crazy to think because it's free or dirt cheap at $249 (for a class like advanced modelling in Maya where you get around a 116 hours of video lessons) that by paying someone else 10/20/30 times more your getting better content, believe me you're not as I have much of the other stuff also.

Good Points
Best training material available
Buzz TV
Awesome comunity
Value for money
Certificates on passing courses.
Teams passion to teach
Complete approachabilty (these guys talk you and treat you as a friend)
Bad Points
1) Not enough hours in day to learn it all.

2) Prepare to give up your life as you know it. This stuff is addictive.

3) Forget what sleep is, you can't put it down.
The Verdict
If you're serious about learning then 3DBuzz is life changing.
If it's a hobby you won't have better fun anywhere.

The best around

Introduction
I am an aspiring 3d artist and I stumbled on this site quite accidentally. I was immediately wowed by the amount of free video training modules they offered to regular members and the staggering amount they offer to Member Sponsors (that's where the 35$ comes in). Aside from being a VTM site they also have an informative message board, a hilarious radio show, and a real time chat program called BuzzNet.

Another extremely admirable point is the philosophy behind all this. "Education shouldn't cost an arm and a leg" Buzz (the sites sysadmin) stated once in an episode of their funny and informative radio show. I truly admire Jason Busby, Zak Parrish, and Logan Frank for their tremendous effort to help educate those of us who are determined to learn the art of 3D but are disadvantaged enough to not be able to afford a high priced schooling.
Good Points
Online Classes
Free Video Training in a variety of 3D software
Online Community that actually feels like a community
BuzzNet News Radio Show
Bad Points
None that I can think of.
The Verdict
Well worth the monthly price of 35$ AND a great place to get your feet wet or get kick started into using 3D apps.
