Introduction
DON'T BUY IT
Good Points
It's has a great processor (but...see bad points)
It has S-Video port (but... see bad points)
Bad Points
great processor but because of this it over heats...so much so that my laptop bottom is slightly melted.

Graphics card fails - probably due to overheating.

The Verdict
If it's new it will work for a few weeks then you will begin to notice the problems. If it's old you will regret buying it...NB: Toshiba have updated the bios and you can get this off their server...this does help a little but I think it's better not to buy the Laptop

Introduction
So, i thought it was time for a new pc. My old desktop had seen better days, and i was just itching to get a laptop. Then, the day came when i decided it was time to give up on the 5 year old beige box, and to go and buy a new laptop. I don't know what force propelled me towards looking at the toshibas, but before i knew it, the only two laptops i was comparing were two toshibas. I eventually went for the Equium A60-157. All was going fine, my laptop was great. No problems what so ever. 4 months later, however, and my still fairly new laptop was beggining to develop some overheating problems. So much, that i went out and bought a wireless adaptor for my old desktop, and used that for the internet instead. This procedure, i felt, should prolong the life, and stop the internal parts from melting. A couple of weeks later, and i came across an error message while starting up. It was pretty average, one of the messages that reports a hardware change, and gives 5 options about how you would like to stat windows. I thought nothing of it, and decided to start windows normally. All was going fine, and then before the login screen, it misteriously rebooted. Up came the error message once again. Thinking that it was just being a bit strange, i tried opening in last known good configuration. Again, all was going fine, untill it rebooted just before the login screen. Once again, up came the error message. "Oh" I thought. "Must need to do a system restore". So, this time, i opened in safe mode. Safe mode opened up normally, and i did a system restore. Little did i know, that to complete a system restore, the computer needed to open normally after restoring. Anyway, it finished doing system restore in safe mode, and rebooted. Thinking that windows would now open normally, and everything would work, i relaxed. That was short lived however, as up came the error once again. I called up PC World, and they were very helpful in sorting out my dilema. However, they reported to me that i needed to reinstall the whole system again. Reluctantly, i accepted that my data would be lost, and reinstalled the system. Now with a reinstalled system, i opened up windows, hoping to see the issue resolved, but you guessed it, up came the error message. I tried to open in all different modes, but no, nothing. PC World took away the laptop for repair. 3 Days later, i recieved my laptop back. Everything was working fine. The overheating had been solved, and windows opened up just fine. However, when attempted to install my usb wireless adaptor, it claimed no usb adaptor could be found. I tried using a whole manner of usb devices, but no, nothing worked. Back it went to pcworld, and back it came. This time, thank goodness, everything was working fine. And since then, everything has worked fine. Untill yesterday, that is. Turned it on, and got an error message:
lsass.exe - error
-----------------
The Object could not be found
__________
| O K |
------------------------------

When i clicked ok, the system rebooted, and up came the error again. This time, knowing a bit more about the stubborness of my laptop, i tried opening in safe mode. Nope, still get the error message. I opened in a whole manner of different modes, and still, no. I called pcworld, and they reported that i needed to reinstall the whole system. This time, however, i had A LOT more important work that would be deleted. This really annoyed me. So, i took it along to pcworld today, to have it's hard drive copied, before complete deletion. They reported that they couldn't copy any music for me, because of legal reasons. Now, i have downloaded A LOT of music, a lot of music that has been payed for, and for that to be gone means 100s of ?s worth of music will all go down the plug hole. There is absolutely nothing i can do about that either. Anyway, to help stop this in the first place, i've spent yet more money on an external hard drive so that my files will be saved on that, and this hole problem will never happen again. But, i cannot help feeling that the problems won't end just yet ...

And oh yeah, i almost forgot, the svideo out doesn't work either.
