Introduction
Logitech Mice are amongst the best most used mice now a days particularly in video games. The MX510 does not dissapoint.

First of, the features:

*800 dpi sensor captures 5.8 megapixels every second
*Advanced scrolling system for web pages or lengthy documents
*8 customizable buttons
*Right-hand control grip
*Mac or PC compatible

The logitech MX510 mouse is sleek looking, I have the red model and it has nice shiny material on the top of the surface. It has the left and right mouse buttons, the middle mouse button with scroll wheel. It has 2 buttons placed on the left side for use with your thumb. And there are 2 buttons on the bottom of the scroll wheel and one on top.

These buttons come pre programmed but the mouse includes drivers for you to customize them as you see fit.

I left the default mappin for most of the buttons but for a few like the thumb buttons i changed to ALT and the SPACEBAR since I use Maya, the button on top of the wheel is for exploring MY COMPUTER and the bottom 2 are for minimizing all windows and fast application switching.

At first it might feel that the buttons are placed a bit funky and not really ergonomically, but the mouse itself really is well designed for the hand. the costumization option for the buttons is quite extensive and now a days I really find my self struggling to use a mouse other than the MX510. Specially when i go to my university and i dont have the extra buttons with my mapped functions on them, it will become a clever and very useful set of buttonsfor you to use on your own.

Basically where this model shiness is the sensitivity and accuracy, before this model I used regular mice and those seemed fine, but after picking up the MX510 you will instantly notice the difference, it feels smooth and soft and the pin point accuracy of it is excellent. It will become notorious specially when working up close with vertices in a 3D scene, when zoomed up a lot in photoshop for example or for aiming in a First person shooter!

There isnt a lot of technical features I can add here or benchmarks to put. this mouse shines on its own, very cheap, accurate and ergonomic. The extra buttons add a lot of versatility to it and its durability is good.

the only downside I can come up with for this mouse is that in some video games you can not map your own functions to the extra buttons. this might be particularly important to some gamers but since i dont want it to do more than the middle, left and right clicks and the scroll wheel I have never really cared about this.
Good Points
*Pin point accuracy and smooth flow along the screen
*Ergonomic
*Beautiful well constructed design
*Extra costumizeable buttons for addedf functionality
Bad Points
*The only downside is the previously mentioned problem with using the extra buttons in some video games but since its such a minor gripe, I wont let it take away points from the review.
The Verdict
If you are tired of small mice or you need an accurate and ergonomic mouse with extra buttons then this is your choice. For 20$ or less US Dollars you cant go wrong with it.
