Advent 7084

this was a replacement laptop from pc world

looks good, good price

poor keyboard, some keys have now come off, screen housing has cracked by both hinges, fan very noisy and the laptop is slow to start up and to perform certain tasks will be sent back to pc world to be repaired and checked

average laptop cheap enough but this is the second advent I have had with problems and will not buy another one

Wireless card keeps dropping a connection
Fans are very noisy.. the noisiest i have ever experienced with a laptop
Could have got a DELL 6400 duel core laptop for the same price with the same spec

I would recomend if you dont mind fan noise as it is a good all rounder.. Dedicated graphics card a real rarity on a laptop at this price

Bought as a replacment for an older samsung. Looks good has good specs for the money.

The screnn is very goodwindows media centre loaded on it is good and the overall system performance is good.
Easy to upgrade the memory PC2700 sodimms are needed and a it has a decent sized hard drive.
Good graphics performance thnks to RADEON XL700

The fan ohh the fan. It is noisey when it kickes in when your doing and thing graphics intense such as playing games

Good laptop for the money it cost to buy. No problems with the build quality or performence. For reference it is made by ECS and is the ECS 600 for future bios updates

Bought my Advent a month ago, and i ve had no problem so far.

good graphics, Hard drive. I use it for gaming and the quality is good. easy to upgrade memory. good looking and screen gives a good pictures quality for films and video games

Fans almost always on, very fast while gaming more than an hour (feel like i have a 747 taking off from my desk) but this is a well known pb on Centrino Laptops.PC World told me the ddr is a pc2100 type (from constructor website), but my user manual says it s a pc2700 platform????

Bought advent 7084 from pc world. Windows media centre, memory card reader.60gb had drive good graphics, processor etc or so I thought.....

Looks the part

machine began malfunctioning from day one. Screen garbling and distorting.Stop errors and unknown display driver errors. Currys replaced but same problems again. Machine tested by currys as faulty. Took full refund.
