Introduction
I was looking for a computer to use for browsing the net and watching DVDs while away from home. By doing a little research I decided to go for the Toshiba Satellite Pro L40-12S as it came with Vista and was made by Toshiba. I ordered the laptop from Ebuyer as they seemed to have the most reasonable price. Surprisingly I managed to get free delivery too! The laptop design is robust and can take the knocks of everyday use. The screen is bright and did not have any dead pixels which indicates good quality control from Toshiba. The machine came with 512MB RAM which isn't really enough to run Vista so it's a good idea to add some extra RAM. I have placed an order for a 1GB module which cost me £25 from Ebuyer. Although the processor is a Celeron, it seems to handle DVD playback and running basic apps without any glitches.

The Verdict
Overall the laptop is excellent value for money and would be ideal for any student or light user. The laptop has been used every day since it's arrival and has coped with apps such as Corel Paint Shop Pro and MS Office with ease. I would definately say to install more RAM as a must if using Windows Vista. Having built in bluetooth would have been nice, but a USB bluetooth dongle would take care of that. they're cheap enough. Bottom line: You'll be hard pushed to find a better deal and value for money.
