Introduction
When I received Aquazone I can't say that I wasn't intrigued. The thought of someone taking the time to develop this software confused me. To surmise this software:
Aquazone is a virtual fish tank. You can pick from jellyfish to turtles to inhabit your desktop.
Good Points
You can use this desktop fish tank to act as your screensaver. Unfortunately this is the extent to which you can use this software. You can watch the whole tank or use fish cam to follow individual fish although I see no reason why you would do that. One option is to feed the fish however nothing really seems to happen when you click the button. You can also choose between full screen mode or desktop mode. If you wish to expand you aquarium then you can add to your collection and get new fish on the internet.
Bad Points
This is a difficult section to write purely because I don?t know if there is really anything wrong with the software. I mean, just what is the standard set for desktop aquariums? I can say that the fact that you have to pay for extra fish online after having already bought the software is a disappointment and the lack of the ability for the tank to be your desktop background is also a surprise.
The Verdict
I am having difficulty rating this item. I have no basis for comparison. The only thing I can say its like is the age old program that is 'Dogz'. The desktop critters that ran around yapping. But they learnt tricks and, well, yapped. Unfortunately the fish are slightly less active which I think spoils the concept of a desktop pet.
I don?t think that this software will be unsuccessful but I do think that the novelty will soon wear off.
