Introduction
Creative MuVo N200 *1gb* review:
I've had this mp3 player for just over a year now, and i have to say, it's brilliant, it's still going as strong as it was when i first bought it even though i've dropped it a good few times and used it alot.
Basically, i was looking for a decent mp3 player where you could just bung the main unit in your pocket put the earphones in your ears and not worry about the player getting scratched or skipping tracks. So, when i recieved my MuVo N200, i was very pleased, it's small, feels solid and is unbelievably light, even with the AAA battery in place.
The sound quality is excellent, especially when you get the equaliser set up to your requirements.
There has been a lot of chat about a ''hissing'' noise when the backlight is on, this is true, but it's really not noticeable unless you listen out for it, also, i think theres a firmware update which gets rid of the problem.
Good Points
- Amazing sound quality,
- Small (Width=33.5mm X Height=65.5mm X Depth=13mm) & Light (22g - without battery),
- 1gb memory (thats about 16 hours of MP3 or 32 hours of WMA)
- Comes with a nice range of accessories - Protective case with belt clip, armband, USB cable (of course), decent software etc. It also comes with a a line-in cable to attach the player to an audio source such as a CD player, from which you can record CD's or the radio etc to the mp3.
- Built in FM radio & Microphone,
- Approx 13-15 hour battery life,
- Doesn't scratch easily, like iPod's,
- Equaliser is a neat little feature to make the most out of the MuVo.
- Different colours now available.
Bad Points
- Screen is a bit small,
- Not the best looking mp3 around,
- Earphones supplied are a bit pants.
- The radio doesn't pick up stations too well, but to be honest, when you've got over 200 tracks on the player, you never really use the radio!
- The software takes a bit of getting used to, but after a little practice, it's easy! Just remember: USE THE ARROWS!
The Verdict
Considering you can pick this player up for less than ?70 now, it's definatly worth it.
Get yourself a decent pair of sony earphones, and you'll be set!
Excellent value, like the previous reviewer said.
If you have a choice of the black or white one, get the black one!
