Introduction
In an effort to save some money but join the digital age, I purchased a SanDisk Sansa Express. This was before my purchase of the 30-GB Apple iPod, which I also reviewed.
Good Points
For starters, the Express is cable-less. No fumbling with wires trying to hook up your MP3 player to your computer. So you get a direct connection from the device to a USB port, which results in faster file transfers. The recording capabilities, along with the FM tuner, allows you to record your favorite songs or programs from the radio.
Don't let the slim, sleek design fool you. There's no compromise on the display screen, which allows you to manage your songs by albums, artists, and playlists.
Bad Points
Well, it's only a 1GB flash-based MP3 player. That means you can only hold 250-something songs. Not much if you're not the type to listen to an album all the way through.
The Verdict
If you were considering a Nano, you might want to purchase this device for much cheaper.
