Definitely maybe is, in many peoples opinion (including my own) the best debut album of all time. Oasis have released this 10 year anniversary DVD to commemorate the outstanding album.
The DVD features all of the songs from the album including the track 'Sad song', which was until now a vinyl only track. The DVD includes; early live/television performances of each song, the promo/music videos for each single (including Rock 'n' roll star), and the album versions of each track (with added backgrounds which make them more interesting to watch).
The DVD also includes an hour long, song by song documentary in which the bands members, friends, production team etc, talk about various topics with regards to the album.
The limited edition double disc DVD (which I have) contains further interviews and also more live and eventful performances, and anecdotes.
Good Points
The DVD provides early footage looking back at Oasis where it all began, before they were so huge.
There?s a large wealth of options (as stated in the intro) for each track
As a huge fan, I was very interested to hear what the band members had to say in their interviews
It features some of the best songs ever written and composed
Liam Gallagher?s vocal work is amazing
Bad Points
Some of the ?all exclusive? documentary was shown on Channel 4 before it was released
I couldn?t have expected this, but I would have loved to see a 'whatever' performance. The track was not on the album and was only released as a single, but it was from the same era.
The live performances are not as good as some of Oasis?s later live acts
Some of the people being interviewed seem to have previously rehersed what they've said. They sound too dramatic at times, and it seems acted to me. I could be wrong however, and I probably am.
The Verdict
A wonderful release which I?m sure many Oasis fans will be thrilled about. Oasis are one of the most influential and important bands since the Stone Roses, and the huge archive of never-before-seen footage is a real treat for Oasis fanatics.
