Introduction
Michael Moores documentary film about George Bushs presidency takes you from his controversial win at the election through September 11th to the present crisis in war torn iraq. The whole documentary is almost completely 99.9% propaganda free with the whole film simply made up of real filmed footage of events that have happened in the past four years. Most of which was not even filmed by Michael moore. Any anti bush person or indeed anyone with a BRAIN! should see this film now!
Good Points
This documentary film is propaganda free being made up of segments of actual film footage from various sources such as Tv stations which were recorded in the last four years. Each segment lasts on average roughly three minutes so therefore clever use of editing cannot prevail.
The film is hugely entertaining in that it tells you the truth and slaps it on a plate in front of you. However thats where the entertainment stops. The film does show dreadful scenes of war and of grieving families. Moore has sold the film as entertainment as this is what we want but moreover as its the best way to reach mass audiences. Also Moore has cleverly realised that its best to use humour in the face of such large scale and serious folly as Bush's Presidency. Futhermore Moore is delightful in that he is such a welcom surprise looking to the noraml eye like an ordinary American: ignorant, stupid, loud,trigger happy and overweight but he really isn't any of these things. Moore has come for America at the right time.
Bad Points
Not really a weakness but some scenes are very disturbing espically the scenes of Young Americans going into battle whilst listening to their favourite CDs. (Did you know estimates say over 100,000 iraqi civilans have been killed as a result of George Bushes Military decisions).
Other than that a great film:an an eye opener and a hope for the future.
The Verdict
Bush VERY contraversially wins presidentail election - September 11th happens - Bin laden owns up! - Bush forgets about him - illegally attacks iraq instead killing 100,000 + civilians on a the basis of WMDs which wasnt true as UN sanctions as well as the original iraq conflict already sorted that out. Its only time before Bush has the audasity to admit the truth for what the war was really all about - OIL !!!!!
(if so he should be publicly hanged from the statue of liberty)
In the meantime to realease some of your rage watch this film to gather your thoughts and focus your demons.
