Introduction
Led Zeppelin IV is the album that gave the world Stairway to Heaven, which turned out to be the most popular rock song, certainly of the 70's (consider this album was released in 1971) and maybe of all time.
Another Stylistic change for Led Zeppelin here. Predominantly rock n roll but with less blues than before. Having said that the finsher ''When the Levee Breaks'' is one of their greates blues rock achievements.
Good Points
Black dog - fiery and unusual riff as the opener.
Stairway to Heaven - nuff said!
Possibly one of the most influential rock albums of all time.
Virtuoso musicianship and great lyrics.
Bad Points
Not a single weakness here. Really.
The Verdict
My personal favourite all time album. The most incredible rock n roll songs you will ever hear, along side one fo the greates folk songs and an incredible blues finisher! I always put this album back to the start when its finished!
