Introduction
The King Du is a Japanese style noodle bar located in Harlows town centre.
On entering the restaurant we were greeted with a warm freindly smile and guided directly to our modern thick oak table with bench seat. The surroundings are tastefully decorated 'oriental style' with a good choice of earthy colours. The lighting is soft yet ample making it easy to read the descriptive, extensive menu!
Choosing our meal proved quite difficult with the menu offering such delights as; Katsu Curry, Ramen, Mai La and Yum Yum to name a few. After much discussion (and a couple of bottles of Asahi lager) we decided on Chicken Katsu Curry, Mai La Beef Ho Fun, with side dish of Salt And Pepper Squid to share.
Each dish arrived at the table separated by a minute or so. This did not pose an issue, as we were pre-told by staff that it was to ensure food arrived hot and fresh. The portions are ENORMOUS and well presented on thoughtfully chosen crockery. The meat and squid were tender and well seasoned. All three dishes were perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic.
This pleasurable experience cost a mere £25 (including tip and doggy bag!)
Good Points
Friendly Staff giving a good service

Comfortable, clean and slylish surroundings

Menu to cater for most tastes

Good selection of beverages including bottled beers, wines and freshly squeezed juices

Great fresh food

Exceptional value for money
Bad Points
No desserts (but given the HUGE portions you will not have room!)

The Verdict
The King Du is a 'must try' and so is the Salt And Pepper Squid. I will be returning very soon to sample more.

Introduction
King Du Noodle Bar in Harlow is a Japanase, Korean, Chinese style restaurant, fully licenced and open 12 to 11pm (at the time of writing). King Du can be found at:

King Du Noodle Bar
1 West Square,
Harlow Town Centre,
Harlow,
CM20 1JJ

We went to King Du for a quick bite to eat and were blown away by the food, and he restaurant in General. As it states on the menu, Kind Du Noodle Bar is an informal eat-in restaurant styled on the ramen (noole bars) popular in Japan and Korea. The decor is just that, it's certainly informal and it's most definitely popular!

Serving mainly noodle dishes, Kind Du also offers a variety of sides too, of which we ordered 3 dishes. YumYum Sticky Ribs, Prawn Tampura and Vegetable Tampura were all delicious and very reasonably priced. The light, crisp batter of the tampura was like nothing i've ever tasted before and it was very, very fresh and is what prompted me to write this review.

Every dish tasted so fresh and that's because "Every dish is straight to wok as soon as your order is taken, with the aim to have your dish served immediately from wok to table to ensure it is piping hot so you can enjoy its freshness".

The food portions you get at King Du are huge. If you were only to order one main dish with no sides, you'd probably have enough for two to share for quite a filling (yet cheap) lunch.

For a very good price, all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and I for one will definitely be going back for more.
Good Points
- Authentic style noodle bar, unlike anything else in town.

- Great tasting food

- Heaped Portions

- Excellent prices

- Friendly Staff

- Curley Straws!!!
Bad Points
So far so good, we've not experienced any bad points, apart from the feeling of utter pigishness when you look down at the empty plate which was once piled with tasty food.
The Verdict
Now my favourite restaurant or place in Harlow. If like me you've got a soft spot for chinese style food and noodles, you can't go wrong with Kind Du Nodle Bar.
