Introduction
I am a complete sucker for fish n' chips, and The Fish Inn at Hatfield Heath in Essex is one of my favourites. Hidden away at the end of all the shops and takeaway restaurants, you can find The Fish Inn next to the overflow carpark.
Good Points
Very tasty chips, just how i like them. Often chips are mushy in the middle, but a little crisp on the outside which is perfect, but they are also quite oily chips which isn't so good.
Friendly staff.
Good selection of food available, though sometimes you have to wait around 5 minutes for it to be ready, but that's good as you know it's nice and fresh mostly.
Bad Points
Mentioned above, oily chips. One chip is coated in enough oil to leave the paper wrapping covered in greace. Can't be good to ingest.
They don't currently open monday lunchtimes, and the rest of the week they only open at lunch between 12 - 2pm.
Sometimes you have to wait for food to be ready which can be from 5 - 10 minutes, but this also means it's as fresh as possible.
The Verdict
A great little fish and chip shop in a nice area, Hatfield Heath. Prices are possibly a little more expensive than others (£1.80 for large chips). Nice food but not exceptional, i'd recommend The Fish Inn.
