Introduction
I always wanted that Marshall tone and the best way to get it is to buy a marshall! Owned for a year/Yamaha Strat thing/Play,jam 10 yrs
Good Points
Its portable (combo),easy to lug arround,The tone is lovely(must be that preamp tube),it rocks out beautifuuly, lovely distortion/feedback. Loud enough to drown out a drumb kit!.Easy to use,DI out,cd in so you can play allong with your fav guitar mags tracks.
Bad Points
can sound abit harsh next to pure tube driven amps, But nowhere near as harsh as most soildstate amps.

The Verdict
lovely black box!!.I wish I could have afforded this when I was Eighteen!!

If you want a Fender clean sound, buy a Fender.

This has Marshall on the front and it just wants to ROCK!!!!

Introduction
I was in need of a reliable amp head. So, I bought a used Marshall MG100HDFX. It turned out to be a real POS! Cut out at practice and at gigs so I traded it in on a Marshall AVT50H. I might add that I did get some killer tone from the MG100.
Good Points
Have only used the AVT50H at home and at practice once. Already have an MG412 cab. The AVT through the MG412 cab sounds awesome on clean as well as on OD. Maybe 'cause I play a vintage Gibson 335S Custom with Seymore Duncan Custom pickups and an Ovation Baladeer acoustic/electric. In '75 I had a Marshall MKII 50watter and as far as I'm concerned the AVT sounds as good or better than the MKII.
Bad Points
None yet. 50 watts sound like the power I got from my MG100HDFX. Or more!
The Verdict
I think it's the best solid state amp I've ever heard to date. Could be because of the 12AX7 preamp tube in the preamp section of the amp.
