Introduction
I was waiting for Line 6 to add a reverb pedal to the Tonecore range and here it is. It doesn't disappoint.
Good Points
Great variety of sounds from nice contemporary room reverbs, accurate spring reverbs and the long lush digital ambience that we've become used to from modern units. The sounds have great character and work well in a live situation. The bonus prize is the delay setting which behaves and sound like an old analog unit! The OCTO setting which pitchshifts the reverb up an octave is also worthy of note - sounds a bit like a mixture of strings and a fairground organ playing along with you.
Bad Points
Although the unit itself is built like a tank the knobs themselves are weak and plasticy. If you dropped the unit - the weight of its case would be sure to shear all the knobs off if it fell on its face. Also the writing is TINY! Musicians of advancing years haven't a hope of reading it at gigs. It would take a 12yr old with a telescope to read the markings!
The Verdict
Fantastic. The best non-programmable reverb pedal ever made. Quality sounds.
