Boycott: The Autobiography by Geoff Boycott

By: Rex Inego | May 27, 2009 05:22 AM

Boycott: The Autobiography by Geoff Boycott -A biography complete with love-hate relationships of Geoff Boycott with Yorkshire cricket, his many triumphs for England and the reason he chose to go out of Test Cricket for 3 years in the mid 70s and his take on the world of cricket via BBCҒs test match special and Channel 4s cricket coverage.

He is known in the present generation as a pull-no-pinches commentator.

Published in 1987, this paperback format is written in English and it has the superb openness of the Yorkshireman!

Pros: Complete with many personal details, it gives in the power and intricacies involved in power Cricket, on and off the field and hence give a better insight into him as an individual!

cons: Does not mention about the women in his life and name-droppings are quite a few to check in! It is quite a tedious reading stuff.

conclusion: The story of the legend who lent his voices as a commentator to BBC and channel 4 as the present generation knows him, gives his version for the innumerable controversies and the politics involved without naming the characters, a good diplomatic book yet giving complete insight into his personality!
