Nightfall is the newest edition to the Guild Wars franchise and doesn't let us down either, the gameplay remains as captivating as ever and promises hours of fun.
As with all other pre-existing campaigns it is stand-alone allowing new players to expirence Nightfall. As it is a new campaign it does include great new features that appeal to existing players and new ones too.
Pros: One of the most anticipated feature of Nightfall is the heroes system, allowing players to have their own custom AI players to replace the pre-existing henchmen. The features that hencmen include are: -Customizable attribute points -Customized skill bar -Auto leveling armor & cutomizable weapons -Ability to change secondary profession easily The ability for a heroes armor to increase naturally allows players to concentrate on their own armor or the heroes weapons. Another addition to the Guildwars system is Sunspear Ranks. Within the areas of Elona the characters can talk to numerous Sunpear Scouts etc, next to ressurection shrines. They in turn will provide a bounty for a certain type of enemy (insects, plants etc.), when this bounty is accepted when you defeat an enemy you recieve double expirience for quick leveling, and a promotion point. Once you earn promotion points your earn new titles, which can be used to complete quests. But they are also used to recive aditional attribute points within the early game. One of the new parts of Nightfall as with Factions is the addition of classes, these are the Dervish and Paragon. The Dervish is named a Holy Warrior as it uses enchantments to boost itself up before attacking with its weapon of choice, the scyth, the Dervish is excellent at solo play as it has a great balance of offensive and defensive skills. The Paragon is the opposite of the Dervish, it is more designed for party play and its main feature is its leadership, it uses shouts and stances to up its party members attributes and leads them into battle, so this is a great class if your wish to party with other human players.
cons: The bad points of this game is generally what comes with any MMORPG, one of which is LAG. As Nightfall is the latest addition a vast amount of players will be playing which can create alot of information to gather on the server. Although AreaNet have tried to overcome this with the districts that increase in amount when the servers become too heafty, especially during special events. The only other downfall I can see is that with the addition of heroes, it has become increasing harder to get human players to party up until later game when its more necessary. The idea of Nightfall is mainly PvE (Player vs Enviroment), so if your a high PvP player you may be dissapointed with the lack of new content, but the new classes help with the addition of tatics within play.
conclusion: Nightfall has not let me down in anyway as the heroes system is a great addition, and the new classes are perfect for any player. The new storyline within this game is fantastic and will let playing enjoy countless hours of fun.
