Lakeside Shopping Centre

By: Rex Inego | Aug 11, 2008 10:28 PM

Lakeside shopping center in Thurrock is a large, popular shopping complex with many food restaurants available.

Though mostly geared towards clothes shopping, Lakeside offers many other types of shops from sports shops to gadget shops, to football memorabilia, all of which stay open pretty late in the week, until about 9:00pm I believe, and even latet around christmas.

Lakeside has decent toilet facilities which are kept clean and in good condition, and these are situated on the same floor of the 3 story complex.

Food is available at lakeside from either the food court or from the more upmarket resturants which are all excellent, and recognisable chains.

Below is a full list of shops and restaurants at Lakeside, accurate at the time of writing:

Pros: Large shopping complex, excellent place to visit when shopping for christmas presents. Diverse range of shops. Unlike Bluewater Shopping Centre (nearest shopping centre to Lakeside), Lakeside has a better range of shops, perfect for men to look round when they get bored of watching their girlfriends shop their hearts out! Superb range of restaurants available until late. My favourite being GBK (Gourmet Burger Kitchen) and La Tasca (spanish tapas). Very large car park (free parking) and a multi story car park for peak times such as christmas, when the main car park is full. Lakeside is situated near IKEA furniture store, so we often combine the outting to laekside with IKEA.

cons: Be prepared to spend a lot of money! With so much choice available it's a shopper's paradise.

conclusion: A great day out at the weekend, and a really nice place to be if you go after a day's work, especially if you take advantage of the reastaurants available. Not a trip you should make more than once a month, because you'll end up spending more than you should. I would also recommend checking out IKEA which is about 5 - 10 minutes away from Lakeside.
