Methods to choose the best processor for the laptop

It is not difficult to determine as to which the correct processor for the consumer is. It is an established fact that Intel and AMD top the list among the best processor manufacturers. There is nothing to choose between the two with respect to performance. Both are equally good. There are some yardsticks to compare and determine the performance of processors. There are also impressive reviews and charts at various websites. Previously the processor speed could be derived from the clock speed, which is measured in gigahertz or GHz. But that is not enough. There are other important factors for that. Clock speed is limited to the comparison of the processors of the same manufacturer. Here is an approximate guide. First determine the purpose of the computer. If the function is limited to surfing the websites, chatting, enjoying music, office applications etc then a single core processor like Intel Celeron or AMD Sempron will suffice. If all the above functions are needed and that too simultaneously, then the requirement will be Intel Dual Core or any of the AMD X2 processors like Athlon, Phenom or Turion. There is no need to worry about the clock speed as even the slowest processor will be able to handle all those tasks together. But the laptop game lovers will need at least 2GHz dual core processor. Intel processors of I range like i7, i5 and even i3 and AMD Phenom are ideal for the purpose. It is also advisable to buy a power graphics card which will be of importance for playing the games.
