‘Sony Electronic Asia Pacific’ to release new notebook this month

By: Andrew Wilson | Sep 12, 2011 10:38 AM

After the grand success of VAIO S series laptops, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific is ready with a slimmer model of better performance and larger display to be unveiled sometime this month. The notebook will have Intel Core i7 processor, AMD Radeon HD 6630M GPU with 1 GB VRAM and 15.5 inch screen of 1920 x 1080 full High Definition VAIO Display Plus. The weight is 1.96 Kg. It has magnesium body and aluminium palm rest. The keyboard is backlit, so there is no problem in operating it in rooms where light is dim. Added attraction is a Dynamic Hybrid Graphic System Performance Switch, with which the user can decide between ‘Speed’ mode and ‘Stamina’ mode which ensures optimum performance or higher battery life respectively. The battery will last for five hours in normal case, but optionally the life can be doubled by means of a Sheet Battery. The price is yet to be announced. The launching in Singapore is expected before the end of the month.
