Strada - Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth

By: Rex Inego | Feb 14, 2006 11:29 AM

Strada is a new modern Italian restaruant (and takeaway) at Gunwharf Quays which services simple freshly prepared dishes at competitive prices. The menu includes pastas, risottos and grilled meat and fish dishes.

Pros: Complimentary bottled water. Excellent value for money. Friendly and attentive staff. Warm, comfortable surroundings with a wood fired pizza oven. Offer a specials menu which has two starters and main courses which constantly changes. Excellent food - the seafood was excellent and very good quality.

cons: There was a lack of normal Italian offerings e.g. Spaghetti Carbonara, although there was a Spaghetti bol type dish. This wasn't an issue for myself but it was for my Nanna who likes the more basic Italian food and doesn't have a very big appetite. The restaurant wasn't particularly warm.

conclusion: Excellent food with cheap prices. I would recommend it to everyone who likes Italian food!
