Introduction
As a student living in an area where I am unfamiliar with the local haidressers I was a little apprehensive in finding one that wouldn't ruin my hair! I eventually chose Toni & Guy because it was a name that I trusted and because of its positive worldwide reputation.

The price stated includes half head of highlights, cut and blow-dry with a mid level colour technician and stylist.
Good Points
- Good lengthy consultation, the stylist and colourist listened to exactly what I wanted and then gave their expert opinions.

- I felt in safe hands with the stylist - I wasn't afraid that she would cut too much off or get the colour the wrong shade of blonde.

- Offered water, tea and coffee to drink.

- High quality colour, cut and products used on my hair.

- They didn't try and sell me any products like some salons try to do!

- A wide selection of up-to-date magazines to read.

- Plasma screens are dotted round the salon with the latest music videos to watch.
Bad Points
- Expensive prices - although for top quality hairdressing I don't think this is much of an issue.

- After being there over two hours I was only offered one drink (as I arrived at the salon). (I don't like to ask for another one!).

- The appointment didn't start on time, it was around 10 minutes late.

- The staff weren't particularly friendly. The colourist spoke to me a few times but the stylist didn't strike up any kind of conversation other than what I wanted doing with my hair and how I normally treat it.

- There were a lot of Junior staff that seemed to be wandering around the salon without much to do except style eachothers hair for their night out (perhaps it was that Friday afternoon feeling!).
The Verdict
I loved the cut and colour but the staff weren't particularly friendly and helpful. However I would recommend the salons as the quality of my cut/colour was excellent and every single salon has different staff.

Introduction
I have a very talented hair stylist friend, and he was always telling me about Tony & Guy, so I managed to save up (quite pricy) and eventually got a hair cut.
Good Points
I was aknowledged quickly after I arrived and soon after I was asked to take a sit, someone came for my coat.

The hairstylist took the time the really get what I wanted, I was explicitly letting her doing what she would see fit for the finish and texturing.
Bad Points
I wasn't offered a drink or anything, but it doesn't matter since I don't go to a hair salon for that!

They were running late when I arrived so I had to wait for quite a while.

The hair stylist didn't make any kind of conversation other than during the consultation, so she remained silent all the rest of the time.

The person who shampooed my hair didn't say a word I didn't even saw their face!

The stylist had good manners and when she finished she made sure I was happy with my cut. She lead me to the register and said goodbye.

At the register the girl had quite a strong accent, probably from Pompey!, and I couldn't quite make out what she was asking, so I politely told her I didn't understand and if she could repeat, but all she did is saying it even faster with a stronger accent. In the end she just gave me a smile saying it doesn't matter. The weird thing is that I could understand anything else she said!
The Verdict
Well I was happy with the cut, although I was expecting something a bit more specially, having heard so much from my friend about Tony & Guy! It is a bit pricy but well the service is good. The major minus would be that the staff is not so friendly, they seem too busy gossiping among themselves to make time for the customer.
